[Most of Soo Won's preparations for the next crossing were complete, but there was one last thing he needed to do. He needed to safeguard his memories. In some ways it was his most difficult task. He had locked away his feelings so he could be a better king. Opening that box now was unsettling in a way he couldn't explain and he had been putting it off as long as he could. But he was running out of time and he put up the notes he was writing with a resigned sigh.

A favor like this should be asked in person so Soo Won went looking for Frieda. He trusted her with his memories more than anyone. They shared the burden of royalty so she would understand his memories in a way the others wouldn't.]

[Seeing how Frieda was already aware of how Soo Won had ascended to the throne, and he likewise knew of the circumstances of her reign, they arguably were the best-suited people to confide in each other with their memories. When he found her in one of the huts, reading a novel while seated in a rocking chair (not she understood why old people enjoy these so much!), she smiled at him and put the book away to give him her full attention.]
