Lost At A Sleepover
WHO: EVERYONE - Meeting time!
WHAT: Kel, Frieda and Nagito organized a party/sleepover!
WHERE: The largest house they could find in the area
WHEN: Between one crossing and another
WARNINGS Nooooot really much?
There are few things Kel treasures deeply in a place like that. The siblings, sure, his new basketball with the creepy face on it, but also the opportunity to build bonds with others. From what he understands, the memories they build in there will stay, so... why not making great ones? thigns that will remind them they're 'alive' in their own way, that even if theirr identity is lost at every Crossing just a bit more... they're still themselves? He has been in an awful mood since he and Sunny had... a fight? Something? He doesn't even know how to call their poor attempt at a tlak but he knows his best friend is now avoiding him like the plague and it hurts. That being said? He's smiling rto whoerever approaches the building and waving at them. Invitations were sent out, preparations had been done and even at this 'pit stop' there's a community event, so to speak, ready to go.
The whole building may be baely lit, but the precious jars Frieda brought in with glow worms (Some with sitiks and leaves in, too) gave the whole place a cozy and comfortable look. The woman also brought in basins and such, decorated now with water lilies and other few flowers. Ribbons, strings, anything they could find has been gathered as well to make the place 'prettier'. There's no point in being stuck with an ugly room, right? Nagito took clear of all the cleaning, leaving the place spotless, and Kel carried inside all the mattresses he could gather. After a long time processing how to place things? He opted for leaving bed frames alone and just sitting a whole corner of the area with mattresses and blankets for everyone to share.
The few games they can make with sticks and mud are there as well. He may have no apples, but one basin has been filled with water and lily buds to play the 'bite into it and drag out as many as you can' game, whatever it's called. There are sticks and differently colored rocks to prepare some Tic Tac Toe games (sort of. Grey and green rocks VS Xs and Os), there is a space with all the paper (damp, humid) he could find and some pencils and pieces of charcoal too.
The true stars of the sleepover, though? A bonfire set right outside, as safely as possible (with rocks and mud all around the charchoal and chairs put at a safe distance from it) and FOOD. Nagito was an angel and got not only a picnic set for them all, btu also real food. There's wonderful, greasy pizza (one little square has already been stolen, it seems) covered in cheese, A plate full of chimichangas (and here Kel is guilty of taking one), watermelon already cut in large slices, steak that may be warmed up by the fire, chocolate chip cookies, bags of popcorns and both ice and lemonade for whoever wants them.
"Welcome to the party! Nagito and Frieda did such a good job here! You should come inside, we have everything ready. And, hey, why don't you considering moving in here, too? At least until we have to move? You know... company is very important, after all!" He isn't in the mood to look happy but that's irrelevant.

Sunny | OMORI | OTA
Sunny had been wondering where the mattresses went… seems like the ones that had ‘disappeared’ went to the sleepover…
He should have expected that. Sunny knew sleepovers, knew what to expect, and while the cozy lighting did make it more inviting, he saw reminders everywhere.
Watermelon cut into small pieces, juicy and reminiscent of a summer day. Pages filled with drawings or scribbles (maybe, or maybe there is nothing there at all). And the pizza reminds him of Faraway too.
The room keeps shifting from the calm atmosphere to bring shades of neon, the walls there and gone, a shadow always watching and-
It’s a lot.
Sunny hides under one of the food tables indoors most of the time, unless someone can get him to come out (or joins him). The one time he does leave is when most everyone is outside grabbing food; then his hands leave indecipherable charcoal scribbles on the blank pages.

(Also open!)
let's be under the table together
Since he'd been given the responsibility of helping to set up, though, he was also here early making sure everything was acceptably neat and clean. This means he saw Sunny crawl under a table. Which is fine, but maybe someone should check on him? And Nagito isn't about to ask someone else to interrupt their fun, so it's going to be him.
He knocks on an empty spot on top of the table like he's knocking on a door.] Can I come in, Sunny-kun?
Table buddies <3
It’s like his own little space again. Somewhere he can be safe, can hide… and even though he knows Mari might be worried and looking out for him while he hides, he can’t be bothered to part the tablecloth even an inch.
Except when the knock comes from above, almost startling him, until that familiar voice sinks in.
Nagito.
…it takes some time for a reply to come through, but Nagito’s device will beep.]

Hanako | TBHK | OTA
Hanako has been mopey ever since Yashiro disappeared. Where he would normally be floating (quite literally, if possible) around the party with a wide smile, now he just… seems to wilt.
He’s trying, he really is, after all the Ferryman was supposed to bring people back, right? But he can’t stop worrying about Yashiro and imagining what she would be doing if she were here.
(And, some part of him hoped secretly, that she would return. She wouldn’t miss a sleepover with a bunch of Ikemen, right?! …Even if some part of him hates that thought, he’d rather have Yashiro here and fawning over someone like the hopeless romantic she is than… well… lost.)
So the boy sets about trying to enjoy his first official sleepover in fifty years. He can be seen trying some of the food-
“Has it always tasted like this…” Bland, somehow, though he wouldn’t say that to the chef’s face.
-and playing some of the games. But… well… he’s a stick in the mud. Literally, as he pokes the mud with one of the pro-offered sticks and sighs.

The gifts are a pot of steaming white rice, some roasted fish, chocolate, and sugar.
The rice... is oversaturated with water and mushy, halfway to congee. The fish were gutted but otherwise left whole, with heads intact and fins blackened by fire, still impaled on the sticks they were cooked on. The chocolate has been grated into a bowl. It smells good but there's no sugar or milk in it so it is black and bitter. The sugar's coarsely pulverized in a second bowl. People can mix it themselves, she doesn't know what they like.
She has not actually thought about bringing bowls or mugs or spoons that people can use with these and realizes it, but the house is right there after all. If anyone wants some they can get it.

"Did you make it all, Othalo?" he asks, his expression easing somewhat at the recognizable kind of food, without strange packaging or bright labels. Still, he looks... polite about it, his attention flickering politely over it as he waits for the answer to the question.

He can’t figure out what it is. The smell is so unique and yet something about it has him almost Afraid.
… Sunny might have just discovered something more confounding than Tofu…
And it causes him to sneeze.

Frieda Reiss | Attack on Titan
As the party unfolds, she idly moves around between indoors and outdoors, fondly observing the others, and she'll gladly join in on any of the games. She's hesitant to eat - she still feels like she shouldn't, being dead -, but there are several unfamiliar items that draw her curiosity...]
I have to say, our parties get more and more elaborate, don't they? Do you think we'll end up in a castle eventually?
[She's joking - but at this rate, who knows?]
no subject
"I suppose they are." He says, relaxing a slight bit into the chair he's sitting in, "Though I'm not sure how comfortable a castle would be."
Sounds kind of cold and unforgiving to Daniil, at least. He may have grown up rich, but for some reason a Castle just seems foreboding and drafty to him.
no subject
Me neither! Back home, there is a castle, but I seldom entered it.
[She may be royalty, but her family didn't pose as mere nobles for fun. They displayed no outward affiliation with crown and court, though during her brief rule Frieda did have to attend meetings with the heads of the actual noble families to hear their demands and attend to them.]
It really isn't very comfortable outside of certain rooms. What we have here is preferable!
[After all, what does a person really need besides a comfortable bed, a kitchen, a washroom, and a place to sit and mingle? Granted, technically none of them needs any of that anymore, but the jump in their quality of life has been very notable.]

I suppose it can't be helped that this is. [He doesn't really have facial expressions as humans would know them, but the pause is suggestive.] Rustic.

[Celehar considers this with puzzled solemnity. He looks up from the game he'd been contemplating, a simple set of jacks from the look of it, to consider Frieda, his ears twitching upward.]
I wouldst ask thee to contain thy ambitions. From experience, I might say that the more elaborate the celebration, the less enjoyable.

Daniil Dankovsky | Pathologic | OTA
But during the party he's around. Mostly keeping to himself, but still enjoying the company. He'll talk if spoken to, but mostly stays out of the way. It's strange, he's usually so uppity, so angry, but he seems calm, like having a roof over his head and some necessities seems to put him at some amount of ease.
Though if at any point the party does get too loud he may excuse himself and go stand outside for a minute until it calms down again.
no subject
Trying too hard? Probably.
He seems to need a moment for himself as well at some point and that's when he meets 'Doc' outside. With a smile, he offers him the glass of lemonade he was carrying. Still fresh from the bottle being kept in water until it was time to serve it, so very nice- of it only it was orange juice.]
Hey there, Dankovsky boy. Having a good time? Here, have a sip, I promise I still have to touch it, promise, no spit in it.

All his efforts are set ablaze when, in the process of climbing the stairs to escape a burst of enthusiasm over one of the games, he hears a creak on the stairs behind him and turns, his eyes momentarily going wide as he sees the Bachelor there behind him. "Osmer Dankovsky," he says, one hand lingering against the stairwell - caught between the logistics of politeness and avoidance when they clearly have the same destination in mind.

Too Noisy
As it seems like the party is getting too noisy and Dankovsky appears apt to go elsewhere, he receives a message via Sunny’s notebook.
Hide with me
It’s an invitation, though it it appears pushy, Sunny didn’t mean it to be. He likes Dankovsky; the doctor makes him feel safe, even if the idea of doctors was scary, and even if Sunny is avoiding people right now, Dankovsky is a safe person, right?

[Nagito doesn't consider himself exactly a host, here--surely that's Kel, and Nagito is just helping--but he feels like he has some sort of responsibility here. That doesn't mean he's very good at knowing what to do about it, though. This means Nagito spends a lot of time flitting around the edges of the party, cleaning up spills and attempting to foist food on people. That's what hosts do at parties, right?
(He remembers the last time he got involved in a party like this. This is different, he reminds himself very sternly. The circumstances are completely different.)]
Do you need any more lemonade? Or pizza? Or--um, anything else, I guess?
[Nagito himself hasn't been eating too much. He's had some watermelon and some watered down lemonade. But that's irrelevant, of course.]
B; Cooking With Nagito
[Okay, so Need's rice doesn't really look like it's made the way he's familiar with. Rice is something he can--well, okay, it's unfair to say he can cook it, but he knows how to press the right buttons on a rice cooker, when his rice cooker hasn't shorted out or had its cord chewed off by mice or exploded. This doesn't look like rice cooker rice. But Need isn't from Japan, or even from Earth, so he looks at it, assumes she must have made a different style of rice than he's used to, and attempts to create... Something.
What he does is he takes a smaller bowl and puts some rice in it. Then he puts some of Need's chocolate in it. Just the chocolate--he completely neglects to add sugar. He doesn't like really sweet things, and anyway, chocolate already has sugar, right...? He stirs it up and he sure has something! But when he eats some of it...]
Ah. That's not right, is it? [His face scrunches up. It's so bitter. His eyes fall on Need's roasted fish.] Maybe adding some of the fish would help...?
[Why would adding the fish help. Why would that even occur to him. Help him.]
C; Bobbing for Water Lilies With Nagito
[Nagito doesn't attempt this until the party has gone on a fair while. He's very delicate about it--tying his hair back and seeming like he's sure that if he leans too far forward he'll tip himself in entirely, as unlikely as that would be. As a result, his attempts only result in him pulling out one water lily. A poor result, as far as getting points in this game go.
Nagito is delighted.]
Just one!
[He didn't fall in, he didn't cause a chain of events that smashed the basin to pieces, and he didn't somehow pull out every single water lily in one long chain. He just got one!]
B
Dankovsky is there, being a bit judgemental, yes. He's not one to usually judge what people eat but he did just watch Nagito add chocolate to rice. That was a bit odd. Even for him. And now he's reaching for the fish...?
Is Nagito stupid or just incompetent?
"What are you trying to make?" He asks with a sigh, grabbing a new bowl entirely, considering the first bowl to be a lost cause. Who mixes rice and chocolate anyway?

Thara Celehar | Chronicles of Osreth
But as amicable as he is during those portions of the 'sleepover', by the time the food comes out, his expression has morphed into politely disguised bafflement, as he examines it all. The fruit he can more or less guess, the cookies too, but anything bagged, anything processed, he glances to the nearest person to say, "Might you tell me what this is?" in his polite, gravely fashion. "I'm not familiar."
Soo Won | Akatsuki no Yona | OTA
[Soo Won didn't know about the sleepover. He had only just returned and was curious what everyone was up to. He followed the lights, lingering near the edge of the bonfire as he watched the festivities with a faint smile. It was a strange feeling. He had only been with this group for a few months but he was still relieved to see everyone.]
