Therapy Session Take #1

WHO: Mari and you (OTA, characters are free to interact with others as well)
WHAT: Mari is hosting a therapy session! Come if you would like, or if you want to argue against it feel free to show up as well! This is more informal than it seems although she did invite some guest speakers.
WHERE: One of the large buildings that was most likely a common area for everyone, or just a super large bedroom.
WHEN: After First Crossing
WARNINGS Talk about death and violence, specific CWs will be in the text.

A message goes out on the server from Mari: Sorry for the delay everyone! I thought it best to wait a bit till after the meeting Kel thoughtfully put together for all of us! If you would like to come for the Therapy Session, please come to building X. If you would like to bring anyone or anything along please do! Special guest speakers/appearances include Makoto Naegi, Daniil Dankovsky, and Soo Won.

Mari put her tablet down and went back to straightening the chairs she was able to gather in a circle. Surely this would be welcoming? This way they could all see each other and seek comfort if needed... but just in case, she had set up private areas using curtains as a makeshift divider in case others felt the need for a one on one talk...

It still felt strange to her to not have refreshments so she had cups filled with water just in case, surely even if they didn't need to drink it still helped to make the session feel welcoming?

As people filtered in she would call out a greeting. "Welcome and thank you for coming! If you feel comfortable taking a seat please do so! There are also refreshments over there."

[Makoto sighs at Nagito's response, disappointed but not surprised. While he would agree that taking notes from Freud and the idea of hysteria wasn't good but did he have to say it like that? Shaking his head slightly as he listened, he looked at Nagito again when he acknowledged some of his mistake.]

That's certainly one thing, yes. But what have we talked about talent not determining someone's worth? Hasn't that kind of thinking caused enough tragedy back home?

It's true there are a few normal people who can create great hope, but that doesn't mean anyone can do whatever they think they can do. [Maybe you don't need to be able to fly to create hope, but that doesn't make penguins able to fly.] Nobody would trust me to do--well, most things!

[Makoto nearly groans at the mention of hope. Still, he stares at Nagito and responds.]

What about skill? That's something anyone can learn. As long as they had the skill and knowledge, I don't see why I wouldn't trust them to do things. Talent doesn't mean everything, Komaeda-kun.

[He would trust you if you had the necessary skills!]

Dankovsk-san is a skilled and famous doctor back at his home. Surely that's enough to determine he's sufficent with his skills to know what he's talking about? ...Ignoring his talk of Freud and hysteria but that's not his fault.

[Nagito folds his arms over his chest, drumming on his mechanical limb with his fingers.] He could have done extra research if he was willing to acknowledge that his circumstances might be different from what he expects. He won't even acknowledge he's dead, you know?

[The additional agitation, minor as it is, is an indication that this is Nagito's real problem with Dankovsky. The denial bothers him.]

But I believe he could set a broken limb or identify probably causes of an injury, I suppose.

[Makoto shakes his head at Nagito's words but patiently tries to make him understand.]

How would he even get the research here? I don't think Ferryman-san really cares about the difference between Davkovsky-san's medical knowledge and ours.

[Still, he does notice Nagito's agitation and stops, uncrossing his arms and looks at Nagito in surprise.]

He doesn't think he's dead?

[Still? Even after everything? He still believes it's all hallucinations? That explains some things.]

He doesn't. [Nagito jumps on the opportunity to complain more about this, naturally.] It took me showing him my arm to convince him he was from a very different place from me, and I still don't know if he realizes just how different things are between all of us. Being so persistently incorrect can be dangerous, you know?

[Nagito is trying to protect the group. He is doing it in a very specific, Nagito way. But maybe technically this counts as some sort of character growth.]
