Therapy Session Take #1

WHO: Mari and you (OTA, characters are free to interact with others as well)
WHAT: Mari is hosting a therapy session! Come if you would like, or if you want to argue against it feel free to show up as well! This is more informal than it seems although she did invite some guest speakers.
WHERE: One of the large buildings that was most likely a common area for everyone, or just a super large bedroom.
WHEN: After First Crossing
WARNINGS Talk about death and violence, specific CWs will be in the text.

A message goes out on the server from Mari: Sorry for the delay everyone! I thought it best to wait a bit till after the meeting Kel thoughtfully put together for all of us! If you would like to come for the Therapy Session, please come to building X. If you would like to bring anyone or anything along please do! Special guest speakers/appearances include Makoto Naegi, Daniil Dankovsky, and Soo Won.

Mari put her tablet down and went back to straightening the chairs she was able to gather in a circle. Surely this would be welcoming? This way they could all see each other and seek comfort if needed... but just in case, she had set up private areas using curtains as a makeshift divider in case others felt the need for a one on one talk...

It still felt strange to her to not have refreshments so she had cups filled with water just in case, surely even if they didn't need to drink it still helped to make the session feel welcoming?

As people filtered in she would call out a greeting. "Welcome and thank you for coming! If you feel comfortable taking a seat please do so! There are also refreshments over there."

Ah--I'm not sure. [Island internet access is extremely limited.] I imagine that eventually someone would try to restore what they could, but... Even more reason you deserve a biography, then!

LOL Indeed

[Makoto chuckles as he shakes his head in amusement. He really doens't understand why Nagito looks up to him so much. It was luck and his friends working togther with him that ended the killing game. He couldn't have done it without them. Still, he decides to entertain Nagito by musing about his life.]

So how big would the chapters about Hope's Peak and the Killing game be? It would certainly be the biggest reason people would be interested in me, after all.

[He manages to hide his slight bitterness at that. The only people saw him as important and special is because of that terrible event.]

Hope's Peak and everything before would be setup, of course, but it's vital to set up your situation properly. And of course everything about you is inherently interesting! So they'd have several chapters dedicated to them, even if the moment your true talent was realized, and the struggle to unlock it, would require the most attention. Ah--but you don't remember that final moment anymore, do you?

[In that case, maybe Makoto isn't even sure what "that final moment" refers to. He still doesn't understand why Makoto gave up that memory.]

[Makoto really doubts he's that interesting but who was he to decide that?

Ah, the mysterious final moment that had caused so much trauma for Nagito during the crossing. His amusement fades slightly at the mention but manages to keep his warm smile on his face.]

I know it's got to do with Enoshima. But that's it.

I could tell you, if you'd like. But I wouldn't want to interfere with your Crossing experience, either. [He's willing to allow for Makoto having a much better idea of how to give up memories than he does. His lack of understanding doesn't mean Makoto's choices are wrong! It just means that very high levels of hope are sometimes incomprehensible to someone as base as him.

Also maybe they shouldn't talk too much about Enoshima Junko in front of everyone else.]

[Makoto feels a small feeling of dread at the thought of finding out what memory had caused so much damage. But if he needed to know...]

...Let's talk about it later when we're alone. Right now's not a good time.

[Most of his amusement fades at the thought but he stops a sigh and smiles at Nagito instead.]

So other than liking my speech, how are you liking this event? Mari-san really did a good job, didn't she?

Oh, it's been interesting. People keep talking to me of their own volition! [Honestly, that's kind of been a running theme in the afterlife, but Nagito is still surprised by it.] I don't know how much therapy is getting done, but group activities are good for group cohesion!

[He's vaguely worried that sounds cheesy. But he's talking to Makoto, so it's probably fine...?]

Mari-san is a very hopeful person. A little like you!
