[After Sunny’s visit to the Ferryman, he had been acting somewhat strange. A little more aloof, especially when it came to his sister. He normally didn’t approach her, keeping a respectable distance away, until…

One day, he did.

Sunny’s expression can only be described as one a sibling gives their elder when they’ve been caught hiding a secret - which is entirely true. His ears burn in embarrassment and his gaze is pointed away from Mari, AND he’s hiding something in his hands behind his back. It’s difficult getting the words out to tell her what though.]

Begone, Sun Rays! (OTA)

[Those who may have seen Sunny around the Oasis might notice he looks a little different lately: he’s wearing a watermellon-colored sunhat. On top of that, he’s actually walking outside now even during the daytime.

Said hat might be the cause.

Anyone who approaches Sunny may be met with the teen flipping the hat inside out, showing a brightly colored toucan on the inside-now-outside. He looks quite pleased with himself.]

[Sunny’s eye widens in brief surprise-panic at the offer, and he empathetically shakes his head.

No. Don’t summon everyone. Sunny couldn’t take the crowding. Especially if they all start gushing about the hat.

Another confirming nod.] Ask… Ferryman… [That’s where he got the hats. The teen takes it off his head, turning the hat inside out. It’s now bright yellow with a toucan on it.] It… flips!

[He cannot help but let out a small, small chuckle. It's okay, Sunny, he was just...]

don't worry, I was just teasing you a bit. I'm still very happy to see you content about this. Long live the hat!

[A small pause, then, wondering if asking the ferryman he could get proper... clothes. His shirt is more and more trying to convince him to go full tarzan style as it falls apart but...] It flips! It's amazing, buddy! I'll go ask the Ferryman if I can get an orange one! Orange inside, Joe out, that sounds cool, doesn't it?

[Some part of Sunny had known Kel was teasing. Yet another part of him was still wary of the potential outcome. Kel could certainly kick down a lot of doors if he thought it would do the other some good.

Long live the hat, indeed. Sunny gave a pleased, content nod at that. If anything happened to said hat, he probably wouldn’t take it well.]

Orange… Joe… [In truth, Sunny couldn’t imagine Kel in anything but orange right now. Maybe it was because the color still stood out among the desert - a convenient way to not lose his friend in all of the sand. Something about the way Sunny’s gaze rested on the other teen revealed similar thoughts.] What about… clothes?

[Kel was one heck of a devoted friend, at least that was something no one could really doubt, right? Perhaps not the best friend for Aubrey, but... their relationship had always been 'weird'- he still cared, at least? But she was no Sunny or Basil ~~Or Hero.~~

He could only hope for the hat to... persist. That it didn't disappear like the clothes they found in the other 'stop'.]

Orange Joe indeed. Best guy in the world. If I could, I'd definitely get brand stuff with his face, heh. [Yeah, they were on the same wavelenght on that, huh? He nodded before looking a bit more... sheepish about the idea.] I was thinking the same but, you know... there's always a risk to lose things,right? I'm sure your hat will stay but knowing my luck I may end up with my underwear in the wind next crossing and no one wants to see that.

[Sunny listens to Kel’s words, patient and taking them in… and then, it’s like a small little lightbulb goes off in his head! His eye widens slightly as he looks over at his friend.]

Brand… stuff… [The Ferryman had gotten them the hats, so it wasn’t a stretch to say they could get other things too, right? He tucked that kernel of knowledge away for now.]

Mmmmm… [A rather displeased noise as he nodded weakly at the latter part. Kel’s clothes all coming off would be a bad thing. Just like his Captain Spaceboy shirt had disappeared…]

[He nodded wisely. Brand stuff indeed. If they could find spaceboy, that means everything is fair game, right? Kel grinned widely at Sunny's words, nodding once more.]

Brand Stuff indeed! As long as the Ferryman doesn't decide to give me, you know, Sweetheart brand stuff. That's where I cross the line. No one needs to see me cosplay as her.

[He then placed both hands on his hips, humming.]

I knew you'd see my point, there. There are girls here, gotta keep things decent!

[Sunny gave a small shudder at that: no Sweetheart merch, please. He had enough trouble with the amount of cameos she inserted herself into his dreams…

Sunny nodded though. Kel did have a good point. Even if he didn’t necessarily want to see anyone’s clothes flying off during a Crossing.

~~Those were traumatic enough, let alone if someone just had the wind blow their cover off…~~]

[Wait...]

What is with that face? I thought you liked her. She's never been my cup of Orange juice but I thought you were a shipper on deck with her and Spaceboy? It may have been Aubrey lying to me, though...

[He didn't know about headspace, not at all, so no chances for him to know what happened in a certain very pink castle.]

Anyway, I should probably... go ask? Maybe? And make sure I don't get half naked mid cross, if I get anything. Like... I know I have quite the muscles here, not even death could take them away, but this Tarzan and zombie style doesn't exactly fit me.

[Another shudder - even as the tips of Sunny’s ears and his cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Oh, his poor shipper heart. He had certainly shipped Captain Spaceboy and Sweetheart in an epic crossover back in the day (and in his dreams, but those showed just how futile of an idea that had been).

Kel couldn’t have known though: he hadn’t talked about his dreams with his friend, wanting to not pile on more worries. Plus, inwardly, Sunny was worried his friend might think he was losing his mind. He wasn’t, not truly, just…

Why did it matter again?

Anyway… the other teen’s idea to ask the Ferryman would give Sunny precious time to compose himself… he nodded fervently.] They… can say… [Then, positioning his arms in an ‘X’.] No… flying clothes…
