Those Who Came Before
WHO: Nagito Komaeda, Ozamu Dazai, Sunny, and Mithrun; closed
WHAT: Following the various bits of iconography around the city in the Those Who Came Before quest, finding something interesting, and deciding what to do with it.
WHERE: all around the subterranean city
WHEN: sometime after the Crossing explanation and group meeting
WARNINGS nothing anticipated though pretty much all of these guys may talk about wild things at any point; will update as necessary--include warnings in subject headers when they come up!
Flower and Eye Paths: These paths lead in circles or to empty chambers.
Lantern Path: While there are still some dead ends following these, ultimately this leads out of the city to a specific room.
Lantern Room: "It's similar to the rest of the city in that it appears previously lived in, but now abandoned; it's different in the sense that all the text in this room is unreadable. There are notes, books, letters, etc strewn about, but where before you could always understand the text of something even if the language was unfamiliar, here it all appears to be gibberish. This is true for everyone in the group. However, there are some handwritten notes that appear to have the same flower or eye iconography as the other signs somewhere at the top of the page. It's up to the group whether they'd like to present their findings to The Ferryman or not."
We'll do this mingle-style, with headers representing the various parts of the trip. The lantern room is the most important, of course, but you can create a top level under every header if you'd like! Threadhopping is encouraged, especially in the lantern room.

I don't understand any of this. That's strange, isn't it? After we've understood everything everyone else has been saying and writing? [He holds out one of the letters to the group as a whole.] Can any of you understand it? It could be that this is simply beyond someone like myself!

He was more than content to let Nagito talk - and lead.
So when the other picked up a book in the strange room they found, eyes practically aglow, Sunny figured it was worth seeing what was so interesting.
Nagito’s question causes him to shake his head - no, he couldn’t read it either… which was strange. If only there was a computer or a linguistic book around here that might help translate.
Sunny starts looking around the room for one of those… but the books are all unreadable. He might be pouting somewhat at that.]

[Especially when he's around. As Nagito continues to work, it becomes obvious he isn't just sifting at random; he's piling everything he goes through up, books and letters and papers.]

After a while, his gaze curiously wandered over to Nagito. Head tilting slightly as he watched the other teen work.]

[Nagito says this as if piling up every piece of written material in the room and taking it with them was the obvious choice. The only choice, maybe.]

His gaze flits around the room, sole eye taking in the sheer amount of material. H-how were they supposed to carry it all? Sure, Sunny could try to help, but his limbs certainly were flimsy. Plus… where would they store it all when they did go to cross?
Worry flitted across his face as his brows creased somewhat. Another questioning glance at Nagito - surely the teen would have a better idea than him??]

Ah, are you going to help carry things as well? [Apparently Nagito assumed he would be left to carry this entire room's worth of paperwork on his own. He doesn't sound bothered by the idea.]
A squirrel indeed XD
While his Headspace didn’t have a crafting component, some games did. He started scrounging the room for anything else to put the material into.
Once he started carrying some of the papers back and forth, however, it quickly became apparently that Sunny couldn’t handle a heavy load. Even walking back and forth across this one room, pages in his hands, was enough to make his breathing labored.
Still, he tried… if only because forcing Nagito to carry it all didn’t seem fair.]
