Silence was comfortable. It was something Sunny had grown used to and, little by little, he felt his limbs relaxing. He could almost convince himself that the minuscule clinks of the ceramics were the sounds of someone working in the kitchen. No smell to back that up, but the thought let him stew and regulate for a bit.
Sunny’s gaze trailed curiously to the floor tile… and then his heart clenched again. A flower. A flower? Why did it have to be a flower? Why did it have to remind him so much of…?
