Therapy Session Take #1

WHO: Mari and you (OTA, characters are free to interact with others as well)
WHAT: Mari is hosting a therapy session! Come if you would like, or if you want to argue against it feel free to show up as well! This is more informal than it seems although she did invite some guest speakers.
WHERE: One of the large buildings that was most likely a common area for everyone, or just a super large bedroom.
WHEN: After First Crossing

A message goes out on the server from Mari: Sorry for the delay everyone! I thought it best to wait a bit till after the meeting Kel thoughtfully put together for all of us! If you would like to come for the Therapy Session, please come to building X. If you would like to bring anyone or anything along please do! Special guest speakers/appearances include Makoto Naegi, Daniil Dankovsky, and Soo Won.

Mari put her tablet down and went back to straightening the chairs she was able to gather in a circle. Surely this would be welcoming? This way they could all see each other and seek comfort if needed... but just in case, she had set up private areas using curtains as a makeshift divider in case others felt the need for a one on one talk...

It still felt strange to her to not have refreshments so she had cups filled with water just in case, surely even if they didn't need to drink it still helped to make the session feel welcoming?

As people filtered in she would call out a greeting. "Welcome and thank you for coming! If you feel comfortable taking a seat please do so! There are also refreshments over there."

Woah, so formal…

Hanako’s face split into a smile.

“Huh, so it has a purpose, but really it’s more for mingling. Works for me~ I haven’t met everyone here yet…”

Speaking of which… “Nice to meet you! ‘Soo Won’… that’s a unique name. I’m Hanako of the toilet, one of the Seven Wonders of Kagome Academy.”

Why he is still introducing himself this way, no clue. Chalk it up to habit, or maybe he really just enjoys it when people look confused by the ‘toilet’ part.

It was certainly an interesting title and Soo Won lightly chuckled at his introduction. "I could say the same about you name. It's nice to meet you Hanako."

He was tempted to ask about it but he decided to leave it to Hanako if he so chose. After all the point of this meeting was to encourage everyone to talk to each other.

“Ehehe, that’s the thing with names - gifted or born~” He laughs, as if the thought is amused. After all, ‘Hanako’ was most often a girl’s name where he was from… but there was irony even in that.

Hanako's name sounded foreign to Soo Won so he didn't understand why the thought amused him, another thing that piqued his curiosity. He agreed with a polite smile. "That's true, so is your name gifted or born?" It was an interesting way to put it.

“Mmmm… what do you think~?”

Was that a fair question to ask someone who had little to no experience with Japanese-origin names? Maybe. But it was always more fun to have someone guessing!

Perhaps not, but it was a fun way to learn about Hanako's culture and get to know him more so Soo Won played along, tilting his head to the side with a curious hum.

"Well, something about the name clearly amused you, so either your parents shared your sense of humor, or someone gifted you the name because it was amusing.

The question was, which was is. Hmm, Hanako looked young so talking about his parents might be too soon after his death so he chose the latter option.

"My guess is that someone gifted you the name. Am I right?"

Hanako seemed to genuinely stall for a moment. His parents shared his sense of humor…? The thought brought back some not-pleasant flashes of memory, things long buried that he liked to ignore…

So his answer is that much more enthusiastic! “Bingo~! Though one correction - it wasn’t just a person, but a collective amount, that gave me my name. That’s how rumors work!”

Soo Won noticed how Hanako stalled. Ah, it seems he hit a nerve unintentionally. He kept the observation to himself and he went along with Hanako's enthusiastic answer. "The members of the Kagome Academy I take it? What kind of rumors?"

“That’s right!” This one was sharp! Good to know… and to be careful of too. “Hmmm… ‘knock three times on the third stall in the old building’s third floor girls bathroom. Hanako-San will grant you a wish in exchange for something precious to you.’ Something like that!”

Something very much like that. He’s paraphrasing slightly, but all of the important bits are there. Before then, his rumor might have been different but… who knew?
