The Ferryman listens patiently. Arche's first complaint washes over them without disturbing the stillness of their expression. But her second causes them to frown, their brow coming together with concern -- for The Ferryman, the equivalent of a stone being dropped into the center of a lake.

"You've lost it?" They scan Arche herself, quick and evaluating, and then turn to look harshly out over the salt flat. "But you came from The River," they extend a hand over the flats to indicate, since it isn't as obvious here what The River means, "didn't you?"
