...Hm. She doesn't think he's simple. Need swallows her habitual irritation - she likes when people can handle her being snippy and believes that teasing and being poked at, from either or both parties, is good for people. It's not mandatory, though. She'll just be charitable and chalk the hesitation and rather inane statement up to factors currently unknown, trauma probable, and be patient.

"And they can be sharpened if they're dull," she says in a conversational tone, as if that hadn't been a distinct pause. "Time, a whetstone, and some effort can do marvels. But if you want a throwing knife you don't want it to have too many sharp edges. Safer for the thrower, and they'll do the job fine even if they're not all that sharp."
